(Camden, NJ) – On or around Monday, May 23, PSE&G crews and contractors will begin performing test pit excavations in the roadway to prepare for the future construction of the State Street Substation. The work will occur along Federal Street, between 1131 Federal Street and 7th Street as well as along Market Street, between 1131 Federal Street and 4th Street. Test pits will also impact side streets.

“Since these are highly traveled areas of Camden City, it’s recommended that motorists seek an alternate route or consider taking public transportation to avoid any potential delays,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “It’s especially important to remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”

Work is expected to last for four weeks.  Additional work will continue intermittently throughout 2022.

A project hotline is available at (800) 606-0045 and additional information can be found on www.psegtransmission.com.
