(Lindenwold, NJ) – Beginning Monday, July 11, a roadway improvement project will break ground on Sicklerville Road in Winslow Township from Chews Landing to Cross Keys roads. The project is slated to be complete by January 2023.
The scope of the $2 million project includes drainage improvements with pipe and inlets, concrete curbs, driveway aprons, base course paving and surface course paving, roadway striping and raised reflective pavement markers. There will also be overall traffic and pedestrian safety improvements at Chews Landing/Kali and Berlin-Cross Keys roads including handicap ramps, pedestrian crossing push buttons and traffic imaging cameras.
“It is critical for the department of public works to identify roadways to improve and enhance throughout the county,” Dyer said. “This $2 million investment in Winslow Township will allow us to maintain a stronger roadway and stormwater infrastructure. In short, when this work is finished it will provide a better quality of life for our community.”
Work hours will run from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“Since crews will be completing this project throughout peak commuting hours for the next several months, we recommend that motorists plan ahead and seek an alternative route to avoid potential delays,” said Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works. “As a reminder, whenever you’re traveling through a construction zone please slow down and be aware of your surroundings.”
The Camden County Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining over 1,200 miles of county roadway and 50 bridges. They are dedicated to making our area safer for motorists and pedestrians through county highway construction projects and road maintenance, including pothole repairs, street sweeping, grass cutting and storm drainage upkeep. The Public Works Department is located in Lindenwold where personnel are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to serve the residents of Camden County.
